Certified Builders

JMI Construction are certified Licensed Building Practitioners (LBP), and have been for over 10 years.  Being licensed means you are provided with an assurance that we have proven skills, knowledge and experience when carrying out any structural and weathertight building work and that our abilities meet approved government national standards.

The Licensed Building Practitioner scheme was established by the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment under the Building Act 2004.  This scheme aims to regulate building practitioners providing the public with a minimum standard of competency for their build projects.  It enables certified members to carry out or supervise Restricted Building Work (RBW).

RBW is work that may affect the buildings structural integrity, weather tightness or design of fire safety systems. These restrictions are in place to ensure only competent professionals are able to design, build and renovate homes. It is an offence for unlicensed people to carry out RBW or to knowingly engage an unlicensed person.   When completing any Restricted Building Work on your home you must engage a Licensed Building Practitioner to do the work.

In addition to our LBP certification we are also Master Builders able to offer the widely recognised 10 year Master Build Guarantee on all of our new build or renovation projects.  These guarantees are the most comprehensive available on the market today and only a Registered Master Builder can offer them to you.  The guarantee comes with cover for loss of deposit and non-completion, defects in materials and workmanship, structural defects, and rot and fungal decay cover.

The Master Build Guarantees also offer the flexibility of transferring to a new homeowner should you wish to sell your property as well as different cover options ensuring the best fit for your building or renovation needs.  At JMI Construction we take your build project seriously and want to make sure you receive a high standard of workmanship at all levels.  Contact us today for more information.
